Kaempferol glycosides

In vitro

Mechanism of Action

Antioxidant and mild anti-inflammatory activity in leaf tissue
Nicotiflorin (kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside) with antioxidant and mild anti-inflammatory activity; partially mitigates inflammatory effects locally

Research Notes

Kaempferol glycosides are common flavonoid antioxidants found across the Fabaceae. In vitro studies demonstrate anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Contribution to the overall clinical effect of senna is minor relative to sennosides.

StonecropWestern

Nicotiflorin is a well-characterised kaempferol glycoside with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity confirmed in Sedum species.
