Pleuran
ModerateMechanism of Action
Research Notes
In vitro immunological studies demonstrated Dectin-1/Syk/CARD9/NF-κB pathway activation in macrophage and dendritic cell cultures. In vivo studies showed enhanced splenic lymphocyte proliferation, increased peritoneal macrophage activity, and improved CD4+/CD8+ ratios. Gut microbiota modulation studies showed beneficial changes in microbial composition following pleuran administration. Pleuran from related Pleurotus species has been tested in human clinical trials for respiratory infection prevention and showed reduced incidence of upper respiratory tract infections.
