Increases vascular tone through sympathomimetic activity; anticoagulant properties via coumarin structure

Research Notes

Aesculin contributes to vasoconstriction and improved venous return in venous insufficiency models. Coumarin structure provides weak anticoagulant effect. Often synergistic with aescin in whole extract.
