Anti-cancer effects via autophagy induction in multiple cancer cell lines. Anti-fibrotic in hepatic stellate cell models. Hepatotoxic at high doses — causes hepatocyte apoptosis via mitochondrial pathway — basis for Bupleurum hepatotoxicity reports.
