Mechanism of Action

Activates anti-aging cellular signalling pathways; inhibits protein catabolism and promotes protein synthesis in senescent cells; demonstrates antioxidant activity by upregulating superoxide dismutase and catalase. One of the richest natural sources of zeatin alongside some microalgae and ferns.

Research Notes

MoringaAfrican

Zeatin content is frequently cited in Moringa cosmetic and nutritional literature. In vitro studies in human dermal fibroblasts suggest promotion of collagen synthesis and reduction of ROS-mediated aging markers. Human clinical data are very limited and largely confined to topical cosmetic research.
