Mechanism of Action

Prodrug form of salicin; metabolized to salicylate metabolites contributing to anti-inflammatory cascade

Research Notes

Salicortin represents up to 50% of total salicylates in white willow bark and contributes significantly to analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. Acts synergistically with salicin to provide sustained anti-inflammatory response through multiple salicylate metabolites.
