Niaziminin

Preliminary

Mechanism of Action

Inhibits tumour-promoter-induced Epstein-Barr virus early antigen activation; demonstrates hypotensive activity via ACE inhibition and direct vasorelaxant effects on vascular smooth muscle; exhibits mild hypoglycaemic activity through α-glucosidase inhibition.

Research Notes

MoringaAfrican

Niaziminin was identified in the 1990s via bioactivity-guided fractionation and has been studied primarily in vitro and in rodent models. Its contribution to Moringa's antihypertensive and antidiabetic effects in human studies has not been directly isolated from the whole-plant matrix.
