Eight applanoxidic acids (A–H) have been isolated from G. applanatum fruiting bodies. In vitro studies published in Pharmaceuticals (2024) showed modified applanoxidic acids with activity against E. coli, S. aureus, Candida albicans, and T. mentagrophytes. The compounds are structurally distinct from the ganoderic acids of G. lucidum, representing a chemotaxonomic marker for the species.
Representative pattern: C₁₀H₁₆O
