In the context of Cordyceps supplementation, adenosine is believed to contribute to smooth muscle relaxation and improved tissue oxygenation, though direct clinical evidence attributing athletic performance effects specifically to adenosine (vs. cordycepin) is limited.
Adenosine is a well-characterized bioactive compound present in multiple Cordyceps species. Its content in C. guangdongensis contributes to the species' overall pharmacological profile, particularly immunomodulatory and anti-tumor activities noted in Cordyceps genus reviews.
