Mechanism of Action

Activates macrophages and dendritic cells via mannose receptor binding; stimulates cytokine release (IL-1, IL-6, TNF-alpha); enhances wound healing through fibroblast proliferation and collagen synthesis

Research Notes

Aloe VeraWestern

Acemannan has demonstrated immunomodulatory activity in multiple clinical and preclinical studies. It accelerates wound healing in burns and oral ulcers, has shown antiviral activity against herpes and influenza viruses in vitro, and is FDA-approved as a veterinary wound-healing agent (Acemannan Hydrogel). Human clinical trials support efficacy in oral mucositis and minor burns.
