It accelerates wound healing in burns and oral ulcers, has shown antiviral activity against herpes and influenza viruses in vitro, and is FDA-approved as a veterinary wound-healing agent (Acemannan Hydrogel). Human clinical trials support efficacy in oral mucositis and minor burns.
